Seattle, WA

September 2003 -- Normally I can get to Seattle by stopping in Pierre, SD, then Great Falls, MT for fuel. This time I got to Great Falls and found they were predicting icing conditions over western MT and eastern WA. I had to fly south a couple hundred miles, then turn west toward Portland, then up the coast. On the way I got this great picture of Mts Adams and Ranier. I'm skimming the tops of the clouds at 12,000'. Mt. Adams is in the center. Ranier is about 3/4 of the way to the right.

Greensboro, NC and First Flight Airport, Kill Devil Hills, NC

November 3-7, 2001 -- Jim VanDuzer and I flew to the ECPA Fall Seminar at the Grandover Resort in Greensboro, NC. More photos on the Photo Album page.

Holding short of runway 5 at Piedmont Triad (GSO), Greensboro, NC. No, I didn't get out of the plane to take the picture. Just held the camera out the window. There were two more in front of us on the other side of the runway. We're number 1 for takeoff so these big guys all had to wait their turn.

Fargo, ND

I needed to get 5 hours of solo time for insurance purposes before I could carry passengers so I picked a place that sounded like it was a long way from everywhere: Fargo, ND. Turns out it's about 2.5 hours from Cedar Rapids which worked perfectly for the insurance requirement.
