HebrewTutor
April 1995

While browsing a theological journal, one of our editors discovered a
program from a professor of Hebrew at Grace Seminary which claimed to
use multimedia to teach biblical Hebrew. The program was being used
successfully in his classroom.
We contacted
the professor and HebrewTutor was born. The product of Dr. Ted
Hildebrandt, HebrewTutor started by teaching students the Hebrew
alphabet to the tune of "Yankee Doodle" (just like they teach
it in elementary school in Israel, I'm sure) and finished with a project
to translate the entire book of Ruth.
HebrewTutor followed a less-successful DOS-based product we
did called HebrewTools. The latter taught the alphabet and
vocabulary with on-screen flashcards and no multimedia.
