American History Atlas

When we released PC Bible Atlas in 1993 we realized we had a
general-purpose mapping technology we could put to use in other
products. After releasing that product we spent a few weeks thinking of
others we could do with the same code. The best idea from the list was American
History Atlas -- a collection of maps depicting Revolutionary and
Civil War battles, migration patterns, etc.
We were
excited about the product and built a new division around it. The
Geography Software Division was formed to create more history/geography
related educational products. The only other product we ever did out of
this division was American History Explorer.
